Anais Babajanian - Small Business Coach + Strategist

I’m Anais – A former CPA & small business operator, turned coach

My career path has been anything but linear – from working as a financial auditor at PwC to becoming a coach. While I’m grateful for what each of my previous roles have taught me, nothing has informed my coaching practice more than what I learned from running a small business.

When I joined the family insurance agency, I thought I had everything figured out and that my business partner (my mom) and team would jump on board immediately. Looking back now though, I realize that the key to creating seamless and sustainable change isn’t a “better” solution – it’s how it’s presented and planned for. I did indeed have the “right” answers – I just didn’t know how to organize and communicate them properly.

After overcoming the initial pushback and gaining clarity about our game plan, I was able to grow our profits by over 200% over a span of five years and eventually sold the business for 3 times gross revenue. There are two key steps I took in order to accomplish this:

Streamlining our operations and creating efficient and effective systems and processes, which gave us the opportunity to create a more robust client experience, leading to higher retention and profitability.

✓ Cultivating a transparent team culture and creating a hiring, training, and professional development program that set our staff up for success and maximized their skills and potential.

My “why”

I became a coach to teach other small business owners how to bridge the gap between themselves and their teams and escape the same cycle of isolation and overwhelm that I was caught in for five years. Through coaching, I learned how to shift my perspective to expand my horizon of opportunities, and I want to show you how to do the same so you can become the version of yourself that your business needs to succeed.

When I’m not coaching small business owners, I like to spend my time cooking, traveling, enjoying (and sometimes performing!) stand-up comedy, and going hiking and camping. I am originally from Houston, TX and currently live in Los Angeles, CA with my husband and our dog, Frida. I have a B.A. and M.S. in Accounting from the University of Houston and received my certification as a coach through Newfield Network’s Coaching for Personal and Professional Mastery Training Program. I am credentialed as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation.
